PicoSure® Pro Aftercare Guidelines
PicoSure® Pro is an advanced laser treatment that improves pigmentation, acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles, and overall skin texture using ultra short laser pulses. Following the proper pre and post treatment instructions helps protect your skin, support healing, and maximize your treatment results.
PicoSure Pro
Protect your skin from direct sunlight, tanning beds, and self tanners for at least two weeks before treatment. Healthy, untanned skin helps reduce the risk of pigmentation changes and improves treatment safety.
Stop using retinol, exfoliating acids, benzoyl peroxide, and other potentially irritating skincare products about one week before your appointment, or as directed by your provider.
Come to your appointment without makeup, lotions, or sunscreen on the treatment area whenever possible. Inform your provider about any medications, recent cosmetic procedures, or history of cold sores before treatment.
Mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling is common after treatment. Apply cool compresses if needed and use a gentle cleanser and moisturizer to keep your skin comfortable during recovery.
For at least 24 to 48 hours, avoid strenuous exercise, hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, and skincare products containing retinol or exfoliating acids. Allow your skin to heal naturally without picking or scratching treated areas.
Wear a broad spectrum SPF 30 or higher every day and avoid direct sun exposure while your skin heals. Consistent sun protection helps prevent pigmentation changes and preserves your treatment results.
