If approved by your healthcare provider, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol for several days before treatment to help reduce bruising. Never discontinue prescription medications without medical guidance.

Schedule your treatment at least two weeks before weddings, vacations, or other special occasions to allow time for swelling to fully resolve and your results to settle.

Inform your provider if you have a history of cold sores, recent dental work, allergies, or medications that may affect your treatment. Arrive with clean, makeup free skin whenever possible.

Apply a cool compress as directed during the first 24 to 48 hours. Mild swelling, tenderness, and bruising are expected and typically improve within several days. Keep your head slightly elevated while sleeping if swelling is present.

Do not massage, press, or excessively touch your lips unless instructed by your provider. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, hot tubs, saunas, and prolonged sun exposure for at least 24 to 48 hours.

Avoid lipstick or makeup on the lips for at least 24 hours. Refrain from facials, laser treatments, and chemical peels for about two weeks, or until your provider advises it is safe.
