Neurotoxins Aftercare Guidelines
Neurotoxin treatments, including Botox®, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, and Daxxify®, temporarily relax targeted facial muscles to soften dynamic wrinkles and help prevent new expression lines from forming. Following the proper pre and post treatment instructions helps optimize your results while minimizing bruising and supporting a smooth recovery.
Neurotoxins
If approved by your healthcare provider, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol for several days before treatment to help reduce the risk of bruising. Never stop prescription medications without your physician's guidance.
Come to your appointment without makeup, lotions, or sunscreen on the treatment area whenever possible. This helps ensure your skin is properly prepared for treatment.
Tell your provider about any medications, allergies, neurological conditions, recent cosmetic treatments, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This helps determine whether neurotoxin treatment is appropriate for you.
Remain upright for at least four hours after your appointment. Avoid lying down or bending excessively during this time to help the product stay in the intended treatment area.
Do not massage or apply pressure to the treated areas for the rest of the day. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, excessive heat, and facial treatments for at least 24 hours to reduce the risk of swelling and product migration.
Continue following your provider's instructions and contact the clinic if you experience unusual swelling or prolonged discomfort.
