Hyaluronic-Acid Based Dermal Fillers

If approved by your healthcare provider, avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and alcohol for several days before treatment to help reduce bruising. Never discontinue prescription medications without your physician's approval.

Avoid retinol, exfoliating acids, and other irritating skincare products for several days before your appointment. Arrive with clean skin that is free of makeup whenever possible.

Tell your provider about any medications, allergies, recent vaccinations, dental procedures, or history of cold sores. This allows your treatment plan to be tailored for your safety and the best possible outcome.

Apply a cold compress as directed during the first 24 hours. Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising are common and typically improve within a few days.

Do not massage or press on the treated areas unless instructed by your provider. Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, excessive heat, and alcohol for at least 24 hours to reduce swelling.

Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night if possible. Avoid facials, laser treatments, or chemical peels for about two weeks, or until your provider confirms it is safe to resume these treatments.
